Oh No You Didn't!
03:04
|
|||
First I find out what you did
Then you tell me that you’re leaving
Now I come back home to find
You took my favorite shirt
Oh no, you didn’t!
You saw me backing up
You could’ve said something
But you just stood there and watched
Oh no, you didn’t just walk away!
Oh no you didn’t!
Oh no you didn’t!
Let me guess, you forgot again
Yes, yes you have a lot on your mind
We know, you’ve said it plenty before
And now you say it’s my fault
Oh no, you didn’t!
Nobody asked you to promise
But you did and failed to keep
And now I sit on your deadline
Oh no, you didn’t ask for one more day
Oh no you didn’t!
Oh no you didn’t!
Oh no you didn’t!

Out of Town
03:11
|

Cold teacup sitting on the nightstand
Open window, curtains wave
Unmade bed and open drawers
Clothes on the floor and the fan buzzes on
Up pops some burnt toast
A fly has drowned in the kitty’s milk
Dry coffee in the pot
But the light in the maker is still on
And the fridge unfroze as the radio tuned itself
That big city turned out so much lonelier
Than the old, small hometown
That crowded city turned out so much emptier
Flickering naked bulb hangs
Over the old kitchen table
A phone rings somewhere once… twice…
Three times, nowhere to be found
Kitty scratching the front door
Talking heads on the TV set
A cigarette has burned to ash
And the washing machine still rumbles on
And the fridge unfroze as the radio tuned itself
That big city turned out so much lonelier
Than the old, small hometown
That crowded city turned out so much emptier
Up pops some burnt toast
A fly has drowned in the kitty’s milk
Dry coffee in the pot
But the light on the maker is still on
And the fridge unfroze as the radio tuned itself
That big city turned out so much lonelier
Than the old, small hometown
That crowded city turned out so much emptier

Roadkill
04:46
|

The other day
roadkill in my way
I just drove on and stared
And the choo-choo train
Keeps on riding straight
There ain’t nowhere to go
Cause where the river blows
Is not exactly where the wind flows
It’s inevitable
Yet it’s all your fault
An armadillo in your headlights
In your headlights
The coo-coo’s say
There ain’t nowhere to go
They have somewhere to stay
And the choo-choo shoe’s
Wheels go round and round
‘till the others are gone
And how the daughter flows
Or what the brother usually does
Around the father, alone
‘Cause where the river goes
Is not exactly where the water flows
It’s inevitable
Yet it’s all your fault
An armadillo in your headlights
In your headlights

I Forgot
03:58

And remember to stay here
To breathe in, stop moving, don’t die
Pay attention to me
And don’t sell it, they might buy it
Or you’ll lose it just for thinking
You might end up with nothing at all
Don’t expect to get it quickly
You might make it but, come on
Chances are that you most likely won’t
And so will I… and I won’t, too
Tell them, tell them
Won’t you tell them what we said?
Are you sure you said it clearly?
They all just don’t seem to understand
Here they come with all of their unfriendly faces
I think… wait! Are those torches in their hands?
I prefer to think that you didn’t remember
Rather than that you forgot
Because remembering is such a more psychotic action
Than forgetting
Are you sure you said it clearly?
They all just don’t seem to understand
Here they come with all of their unfriendly faces
I think… wait! Are those torches in their hands?
Wait! Are those torches in their hands?
Here they come with all of their unfriendly faces
They all just don’t seem to understand
Are you sure you said it clearly?
…Are you sure you said it clearly?
